Meet the Standards Properties of Matter Kit – Gr. 5

Our information-packed kit encourages kids to conduct investigations that support Next Generation Science Standards* for fifth grade! From developing a model to show that matter is made of microscopic particles to making observations and measurements to identify materials based on their properties, kids map out investigations, explain their process and relate findings to the real world. The kit includes 4 double-sided, 8 1/2″ x 11″ Investigation cards, 4 Connection cards, a balance scale, a plastic tube, 2 syringes, a dropper, 3 measuring cups, 25 stacking weights, a mystery powders card, 4 test tubes in a stand, and a funnel. • Measuring and graphing quantities to provide evidence that regardless of the type of change that occurs when heating, cooling or mixing substances, the total weight of matter is conserved
